hey there.

I’m T.K., a girl rolling aroundLA by bicycle, navigating the City of Angels… come along for the ride.

Attend a Live Taping of Let's Make A Deal in Los Angeles

I recently attended a live taping of Let’s Make A Deal at their recording studio in the greater Los Angeles area. The process to be a part of the show was super easy, and participating ended up being way more fun than I expected. It’s an experience I’d recommend to anyone planning a visit to Los Angeles, or that lives here and wants to do something out of your usual.

Dressing up in a costume, letting your silly inner child goof around, and yelling to yell makes for a good time. You feel loose, you feel light, you feel.. * [inserts one of those yells for no reason ] * whoooooooooooo! Even if you’re not as childish and hyper as me, the producers make it hard for you to not enjoy yourself in the audience.

In addition to a little lighthearted tailfeather shaking, by attending a live taping, you have the chance to win big! According to On Camera Audiences (dot com), Let’s Make A Deal has the best odds in town to win!

And girls, I’d heard the name Wayne Brady and I was familiar with him, but I didn’t know he was going to be so fine in person. His eyes could’ve twinkled at me one more time and I was meeting him backstage!

How did I get there anyway?

I may have ended up at a taping in a less conventional way; I’m not sure.

Someone left a comment under one of the selfies on my personal Instagram account saying that they were a casting producer from Let’s Make A Deal. I went to check my message requests and decided to reply. I want to say, the next day, or maybe even later that same day, I was on the phone with a casting producer getting scheduled for a video interview.

The following week, I was at a taping. It all happened very fast for me. My fellow audience members didn’t say this was the case for them, so I’ll tell you how it seems to usually go.

Here’s how YOU can be on daytime TV!

The way it has been, from what I see people have posted on Facebook, interested parties simply request tickets on what seems to be a first-come first-served basis. Or, you could show up at the studio and wait in line, in hopes there’d be an open seat for your butt to fill. If/when the world is no longer on a COVID-fueled fire, I’d predict it’ll go back to this and you could do it this way.

For now, it’s a process, a bit different than what it was pre-vid days. They’re following safety protocols more strictly than the CDC, and limiting the number of people in all studio spaces, which forces them to be selective about audience members.

You’ll have to:

  1. Apply online

  2. Have a preliminary phone interview, where they’ll set you up for a…

  3. Video interview (this will be packaged into a 1-minute montage for producers)

  4. email correspond with someone from the show about your availability (if the producers are considering you)

  5. be placed into an episode taping date

  6. get tested for COVID-19 at one of their locations two days before filming

  7. GO FILM WITCHO CUTE SELF!

Does that seem like a lot? In the mildest way, it was for me because y’all know I have 50leven jobs, in addition to running this Los Angeles lifestyle blog (that doesn’t pay me like a job, but works me harder than one). I got a bit frustrated when I missed my assigned covid testing slot, and at one point, during the rather brief overall process, I thought to myself, “I don’t have time to be playing no games right now.”

I’m glad I made the time though. It was a cool experience being a part of Let’s Make A Deal’s studio audience.

Will you see me?

We’ll have to watch to find out.

According to the Let’s Make a Deal airdate schedule, as of my Internet browser today, because my tape date was October 14th, the episode I attended will air January 4th. Yes, Let’s Make A Deal 2022! Oh em gee, that’s only a couple of weeks away!

Tune in to see the various personalities that were called to make a deal with CBS’ big dealer, Mr. Wayne Brady! I enjoyed watching everyone play, and I think you will too.

If they happen to give me some camera time and you happen to catch it, please pull out your phone and record, DVR it or something for your girl, because I don’t own a television.
